Job Description:

The Cedarhurst School is a private therapeutic middle and high school in Hamden, CT, which has been operated by the Yale Department of Psychiatry for over 60 years. It provides structured and supportive academics to youth with social, emotional and behavioral challenges.

Cedarhurst is known for the robustness of it's clinical program , its strong academic offerings and its PBIS program which is a national exemplar of PBIS in an alternative high school setting. A staff of 26 serves an average of 75 students. The school is highly regarded for the expertise of its staff, the quality of its services, and its location in a beautiful historic home. Staff satisfaction and retention in this unique school are extremely high.

With upcoming retirements, Cedarhurst has an opening for a special education teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year, with two additional openings anticipated in August of 2025. The current opening is for a teacher with certification in comprehensive special education and/or a 7-12 content area certification, specifically English, Math, any of the Sciences, or Social Studies.
