NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: Special Education Teacher ~ Specialized Program

PROGRAM: TLC (Therapeutic Learning Center)

Designed to provide students with a safe, predictable, and structured setting which will optimize their learning potential and focus on building the appropriate social and pragmatic skills necessary for success in the general education setting.

LOCATION: Southington High School

SALARY: BA, Step 3 ~ $52,000 - 6th Year +30, maximum ~ $105,126

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fostering a safe, student-centered, relational environment within the constructs of the program behavioral supports.

• Development and implementation of individualized academic, social/emotional and behavioral instruction for students with a wide range of need from below grade level to at or above grade level to access the intermediate grade curriculum and meet expectations.

• Case management of student's Individualized Education Plans.

• Oversight and scheduling of program assigned paraeducators.

• Close collaboration with grade level classroom teachers, paraeducators, related services personnel, program BCBA, school psychologist, administrators, parents and outside providers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

CT Certification required

165 Comprehensive Special Education, K-12; or

065 Comprehensive Special Education, PK-12
