Classroom Teacher / Special Education

Job Description:

St. Vincent's Special Needs Services is an approved private special education school that serves students from 3-22 who have significant multiple disabilities and complex medical needs. We are currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement appropriate and effective lesson plans, using materials that engage all the senses

• Promote student independence and decision-making in all activities and interactions

• Assess students effectively and propose goals and objectives that reflect each students' abilities and needs.

• Effectively lead classroom and interdisciplinary team meetings

• Assure that each student's IEP is up to date, complete and accurate

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all required activities and interactions

• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding each student's day

Training and support provided.

Special Education Teaching Certification is required and experienced candidates are preferred.
