Faculty, Middle School Social Studies

The Middle School is seeking a full-time Social Studies Teacher to teach 5 sections of social studies in grades 6-8th. This position will begin in August of 2024 for the 2024-25 school year.

A successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Humanities, or a closely related field. A minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably with Middle School students, experience in curriculum development, and demonstrate the capacity to navigate curriculum ranging in grades 6-8th in a variety of social studies topics including US History, US Civics, Current Events, World History, and Geography.

The candidate should have a passion for interacting with middle school students in and outside of the classroom and an ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment that values innovation and creativity. The candidate should also have a willingness to collaborate with teachers in different departments to create cross curricular connections for our students, a sense of humor and a positive and ambitious attitude are highly desirable. Candidates must be able to use technology to enhance the classroom experience and to use a range of literature and resources representing diverse cultures, experiences, viewpoints, and a passion for incorporating current events into the curriculum.
