Technology Teacher (starting with the 2024-2025 school year)

A technology teacher is sought starting with the 2024-25 school year at Murray Avenue School (grades 4-6).

Essential Duties:

Plan, organize and implement appropriate instructional practices and strategies to develop students' skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Lead students in experiments, investigations and explorations of Technology and Engineering concepts while applying their knowledge of computer and information technologies. Encourage students to develop critical thinking and curiosity about their world and the ability to seek out answers by gaining an understanding of STEM concepts.

Qualifications Required: A four-year college degree and either an Elementary K-6 or PA Technology Education K-12 Certification.

Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning needs. Ability to organize and coordinate work Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Demonstrated competence as a classroom teacher

Preferred: An additional Computer Science 7-12 Certification Experience with Computer Aided Design; robotics and Raspberry Pi; Knowledge of embedded systems, basic circuits, coding, programming and Project Lead The Way (PLTW) professional development/experience.
