Classroom Teacher / Physical Education

Job Description:

Greenwich Public Schools is seeking a Grades K-12 health / physical education teacher for its 2024 Summer School program.

• The Secondary Summer School will be located at Central Middle School, and will run for 25 days: July 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, & 31, & August 1, 2, 5, 6, & 7; the Grades K-12 health / physical education teacher will work 7:30 a.m. through 12:15 p.m., which includes 30 minutes of planning time. In addition, all Summer School teachers will need to be available on one planning and work day: July 1, 2024, from 8:00 to 3:00 p.m.

• The Grades K-12 health / physical education teacher must have CSDE certification in Health, Grades PreK-12 (#043) and in Physical Education, Grades PreK-12 (#044).

• Compensation for all hours will be at the individual teacher's hourly per diem rate as based on the Agreement between the Greenwich Board of Education and the Greenwich Education Association.

• Positions are dependent on student enrollment.

• Preference will be given to Greenwich Public Schools teachers contracted for the 2024-25 school year, and then to other Greenwich Public Schools benefits-eligible employees.
