Instrumental Music Teacher

The Palisades School District invites applications for the position of full-time, contracted, Instrumental Music Teacher available mid November or sooner. We are seeking a candidate with the ability to teach instrumental music to high school students.

The successful candidate should also be able to direct high school marching band, jazz and concert bands. The successful candidate will be someone who is able to work creatively with students, parents and the music community while working collaboratively with colleagues to continue to cultivate student interest.

Interested applicants MUST have a PA Certification in Music Education K-12 and should have talents in band instruction, as well as having a comfort level with general music. Candidates with previous experiences working with high school bands are encouraged to apply.

An emphasis on experience in teaching band instruments is preferred. Please be aware that all applicants MUST submit the required documents as per the posting to be considered for an interview, which includes a copy of certification and clearances as per the guidelines below. Candidates that are awaiting an official certification to be approved by PDE are encouraged to apply, but must submit a letter from their university/college and a copy of their Praxis scores that demonstrate program completion.
