POSITION: Music Educator/Band Director

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Northwestern Regional School District No. 7 is seeking a dynamic, full time music educator to

teach a comprehensive, high achieving band program. Northwestern Middle School is searching

for an instrumental music teacher to join a talented team of music educators.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Music, Pre-K through 12, Certification (049)

• Knowledge of overall operation of the instrumental music program

• Successful teaching experience in a high-performing music program with a history of

exemplary performance

• Ability to manage budget

• Ability to implement policies and procedures

• Ability to interpret data

• Record of collaboration within their own school and across the band discipline, demonstrating

their ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders, including colleagues, parents,

school administration, and the community-at-large

• Ability to form positive relationships with students, parents and staff members

• Ability to nurture a culture of inclusion, self-expression, and passion in music for all students

• Solid knowledge of high- quality repertoire

• Wide ranging repertoire of knowledge and strategies to use to teach the elements and language

of music

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1.Daily teaching responsibilities include teaching one middle school band, small group

lessons, co-teaching the high school bands, and middle school general music.

2.The position requires evening performances, participation in state and regional

adjudication festivals, and community performances including parades, as well as other

events that come up

3.Additional stipends per the NTA teaching contract for evening/weekend responsibilities

as well as jazz band.
