HIGH SCHOOL BAND TEACHER

STEP/SALARY: BA - 6TH YEAR / $50,825 - $102,758

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Band Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, with a focus on instrumental instruction and ensemble performance. The High School Band Teacher will be responsible for leading and directing the school band program, providing instruction in music theory, technique, and performance skills to students of varying skill levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive band curriculum that aligns with state standards and educational goals

• Conduct rehearsals and performances for the school band, including concerts, competitions, and other events

• Provide individual and group instruction to students on a variety of wind and percussion instruments

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and development

• Collaborate with other music educators and school staff to support the overall music program

• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administrators regarding band activities and student progress

• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current on music education trends

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in music education or related field (master's degree preferred)

• Valid teaching certification in music education (049)

• Experience teaching instrumental music at the high school level

• Proficiency in conducting and directing instrumental ensembles

• Strong knowledge of music theory, technique, and repertoire

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and parents

• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
