Job Description:

Music Teacher- Part Time and Full Time (0.6 FTE to 1.0 FTE) will be considered

Position Summary:

To plan, organize and implement an appropriate elementary music instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons using instructional materials that facilitate active learning.

• Collaborate with the school's band/choir music teacher.

• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.

• Employ effective classroom management techniques.

• Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.

• Commitment to the success of all children

• Engage with families, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.

• Conduct after-school performances.

• Other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut Music Education certification.

• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to deliver elementary music content.

• Ability to relate successfully with staff, families and students from diverse backgrounds, experiences and skill levels.
