ANTICIPATED VACANCY

English-Language Arts-TOSA-Elementary (Teacher on Special Assignment)

Effective at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year

There are three elementary positions for the 2024-2025 school year. A successful candidate will be placed in each of our three elementary buildings: Nether Providence Elementary, Swarthmore-Rutledge School, and Wallingford Elementary School.

Under the supervision of the director and principal, the successful candidate works to support teachers at the elementary level in their direct instruction of literacy. A teacher who is innovative, excited by literacy content, and who possesses the ability to teach, train, and support their peers will find Wallingford-Swarthmore to be a great professional haven.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide curricular support to teachers in and outside the classroom through planning, modeling, guidance, and/or co-teaching.

  • Support implementation of all literacy resources

  • Attend grade level team meetings to directly support teachers.

  • Meet with principals, the director, and other TOSAs regularly to support literacy learning initiatives.

  • Assist in identifying areas of need to help design, implement, and deliver professional development.

  • Help design, support, and implement parent informational sessions.

  • Collect and analyze data to implement effective literacy instructional strategies and modifications.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Valid Pennsylvania certificate required K-6 or PK-4 (5/6 add-on preferred)

  • Prior experience preferred.
