Supervised by: College and Career Accelerator, Principal
Full-time/Academic Calendar: 190 days per year
Exempt from overtime
Location: Partnership Learning Academy, Plymouth, CT
Salary Range: $95,000 to $115,000
Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2024
Position Description:
The College and Career Accelerator (CCA) Program at EdAdvance is actively seeking a Early Childhood Education teacher with a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Special Education, K-12 with extensive experience working in a pre-K-kindergarten setting. The rigorous College and Career Accelerator provides high school students with college coursework and pathways toward an Early Childhood Certificate and/or coursework toward earning an associates degree in teaching. An ideal candidate is someone who can provide collegiate level instruction to high school students. Additionally, the candidate should have extensive experience with teaching and modeling best practices in the classroom setting, such as hands-on demonstrations, project based learning, and a combination of approaches in alignment with CSDE standards for education. The candidate will collaborate closely with the CCA team in a dynamic environment that seeks to bring K-12 education, higher education, and regional childcare centers to increase the capacity of next generation educators providing exceptional learning opportunities for our young learners.
Major Responsibilities:
The Lead Teacher will:
Deliver formal instruction and leadership in the early childhood pathway courses as assigned utilizing appropriate curriculum and instructional materials.
Work with the CCA Team and higher education partners to determine appropriate curriculum and instructional materials and enhance original coursework, if necessary and as assigned.
Prepare course syllabi addressing targeted student abilities, specific competencies, textbook requirements, grading/assessment methodology, course scheduling, and/or other items as required.
Provide instruction in alignment with CSDE and NAEYC standards.
Participate in and collaborate on the promotion of the program to district, parent, and student, providing supporting materials, such as brochures, web pages, posters, etc.
Lead instruction during an extended year program that is outside the regular academic calendar, with compensation provided.
Collaborate with the Work Based Learning Coordinator to facilitate and oversee the required field work hours at regional childcare centers.
Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the CCA Leadership Team.
Required Certifications and Experience:
Preferable Experience & Training:
045 CT certification or eligibility.
Experience in serving diverse learners.
Supervision certification providing the ability to sign-off on Child Development Associates National Certificate fieldwork hours.
Travel: Regional, as required by position. The candidate will be based at the EdAdvance, PLA site in Plymouth.
