Position Summary:
To create an educational program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a quality education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff.
This highly effective and AMAZING teacher will:
Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
Promote a safe and conducive classroom environment for individualized and small-group instruction and student learning
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that promote critical and creative thinking and analysis
Developing instructional manuals to help students know the proper handling of computers
Translate lesson plans into learning experiences
Ensuring proper functioning of all computer equipment
Develop pertinent sequential assignments that challenge students
Work with students and others to prepare materials for inclusion in literary publications, contests, etc.
Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed
Maintain familiarity with district and Missouri standardized tests for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement on such tests
Continuously engage in professional learning for the elevation of curriculum delivery
Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and attendance as required by district procedures
Welcome and encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication with stakeholders
Effectively engage students at high levels to encourage a focus on academics
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches district approved curriculum and adheres to adopted Board of Education policies
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, staff and community
Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil
Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
Learns and implements strategies to instruct students in higher level of learning
Uses technologies to enhance instruction
Must be able to effectively organize and prioritize work
Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere
Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports
Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans
Must be able to give and follow written and oral instructions
Ability to work independently
Qualifications:
Requires valid Missouri teaching certificate for Art K-12
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment, Masters's degree preferred
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of basic computer fundamentals and software like word processing
Compensation: Commensurate on experience
