Shoreline Adult Education
Lead Teacher: ESOL/Integrated Training (ServSafe)
Location: Branford High School
Schedule and Hours: Friday mornings - 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM and Flexible time for Grant Management, Curriculum Writing and collaboration (approximately 2-4 hours per week)
Rate: $105 per class session/$42 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
Able to work with a variety of people from other cultures with limited English language proficiency
CT Teaching Certification: 088 English to Non-English Speaking Adults (or willing to obtain certification within a year)
Knowledgeable of pedagogy and current practices in the field of TESOL
Knowledge and experience integrating occupational skills with ESOL instruction
ServSafe Food Handler and Manager certified - or willing to attend paid training
Proficient in Google Workspace Applications, including Google Classroom
Familiarity with adult education a plus
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Deliver standards-based English language instruction tailored to the context of food safety, ensuring it aligns with adult students' maturity levels and interests
Manage the Integrated Education and Training Federal Grant, including curriculum development, collaborating with colleagues, meeting with partners and reporting to the administrative team
Monitor participant progress and outcomes and maintain required student documentation for program compliance
Work as a team member to assist students in meeting academic and career goals
Follow all grant guidelines and State Department of Education mandates
