JOB SUMMARY:

The Classification/Compensation Analyst is responsible for Classification and Compensation analysis, research, reports and making recommendations at a professional level. The position will provide advice and counsel, evaluate positions to determine appropriate classification and salary schedule; drafts and/or revises classification specifications.

JOB DUTIES:

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting reviews of classifications titles and making recommendations for revisions; drafting and/or revising classification specifications and job families

  • Serving as a specialist, providing guidance and advice to employees, supervisors and managers. Participates in small and large-scale classification projects of varying complexity, provides analysis and recommendations. May participate in the development of pilot projects and client agency-led initiatives

  • Compiling reporting measures, research and reports and makes recommendations to management based upon data

  • Conducting various presentations and training related to classification/compensation issues; provides technical assistance to client agency CC staff members and other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Theories, concepts, principles and techniques of position classification

  • Research methods and techniques

  • State government and its procedure/policies

  • Federal and state statutes and rules related to area of assignment (i.e., FLSA, Equal Pay Act, etc.)

  • Rule and policy interpretation and application

  • Human Resources management principles and practices.

Skill in:

  • Effectively communicating to produce detailed, clear and concise audits/reports

  • Oral and written communication in presenting and defending recommendations

  • Research and analysis

  • Synthesizing information from a wide variety of sources and presenting information to stakeholders

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Basic math and algebra.

Ability to:

  • Effectively communicate, in person or in writing; conduct research and analysis and arrive at clear and logical conclusions

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships

  • Make presentations to various stakeholder groups

  • Synthesize and summarize information from a variety of sources

  • Make basic calculations to evaluate basic compensation data.

In this role you will: * Use your expert analytical skills combined with your strong communication skills to present compensation insights to stakeholders in all parts of our business * Partner with department leaders, HR Business Partners and recruiters on compensation related matters such as offers, promotions, and internal transfers * Perform analysis on the effectiveness and competitiveness of compensation programs, and model potential impact of alternatives * Assist in the administration of the annual and mid-year review cycles * Stay up-to-date with applicable employment-related federal and state statutory requirements regarding employee pay. Stay up-to-date on current compensation-related legislation * Collaborate with HR Business Partners in the administration of the job architecture * Participate in annual compensation surveys * Review salary survey participation data including audits, validation, benchmarking reviews and making recommendations * Level and map job roles to our compensation structure * Conduct job evaluations and market assessment using market data and internal evaluations * Work cross functionally to provide compensation analyses and other deliverables to our partners on the Finance and Legal teams * Partner with People Operations team to audit, update and maintain compensation-related data in Workday We're looking for an individual who has: * Strong data analysis skills and can effectively present those findings to different audiences * The ability to work with stakeholders to find the right questions as well as their answers * A highly collaborative style, and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently * Solid understanding of compensation survey data and can leverage that data to drive competitive pay decisions * Advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g. working knowledge or ability to learn: vlookups, nested functions, pivot tables, charts/graphs, etc.) * Basic understanding equity compensation and can provide information to employees to help them understand this important component of pay * The ability to adapt quickly and continue providing the highest level of customer service in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment * A bachelor's degree in economics, business, finance or STEM * Experience maintaining compensation and incentive plans, with a minimum of 3+ years experience in compensation Even Better: * Experience in a software development company * Combination of high-growth private and public company backgrounds desired * Maintains working knowledge of Radford (Aon Hewitt) and ERI * Completed/In process of completion the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) requirements * Has experience in two or more of the following areas: Workday, Tableau (or similar tool), Equity, Sales Compensation, Compensation Consulting More About Us Want to learn more about us and how we are revolutionizing the home buying and selling process?
