Job Responsibilities
Quote pricing for railroad products to Class I railroad customers; products can include crossties, switch ties and bridge materials
Manage orders from entry to delivery of product
Maintain strong relationships with Class I railroad customers to ensure renewal of long-term contracts
Act as liaison between the customer, logistics and operations at various Koppers plants
Manage long-term treating agreements while providing support to the Sales Manager
Work to reduce risk and increase revenue with Class I railroad customers
Follow procedures established by credit, logistics and tax departments
Manage railcar trace reports including providing daily updates, distribution, and communication on status
Retrieve, analyze, and organize raw data from various sources and compile presentable updates to customers (e.g. Excel spreadsheets)
Possess ability to navigate financial reporting, i.e., monthly sales invoices and profitability
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, BS or BA in Marketing preferred
2-4 years of previous sales experience preferred
Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills
Team player; able to engage and collaborate cross-departmentally and with multiple layers of the organization
Ability to set priorities, analyze problems, work independently, and manage time effectively
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, SharePoint and Excel (strong emphasis in Excel, i.e., basic formulas, formatting, creative controls)
Creative and analytical mindset; resourceful and willing to defend your work
Operating system experience (E.g. Oracle, SAP, Navision)
