Job Description

Summary of Position:

Delivery Drivers are responsible for delivering Revol Green's products to customers on local and regional routes making multiple, frequent stops a day. Delivery Drivers must hold a valid CDL-B or CDL-A driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Delivery Drivers must professionally represent the company and provide excellent customer service during deliveries.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a logbook to record miles covered and hours travelled and ensure that all necessary documentation with respect to freight is filled and submitted

  • Observe and comply with all traffic regulations - federal, state, and local

  • Operates assigned equipment safely in accordance with company, Department of Transportation, and OSHA safety programs and rules

  • Inspect assigned vehicle regularly to identify and repair minor faults, and to report major mechanical breakdown to a skilled mechanic

  • Assist in the loading and unloading of goods or equipment to be transported

  • Communicate with the dispatcher, supervisor, or clients using wireless devices or on-board computer systems

  • Ensure safe transportation and delivery of freight to designated locations

  • Ensure that assigned vehicle is always neat and tidy, and carry out other regular upkeep like inflating the tires, refueling, changing oil and water, and tightening nuts and bolts

  • Report any delay that may affect the timely delivery of freight to the dispatcher and client

  • Report any accident incurred while transporting the freight to the dispatcher or supervisor immediately

  • Report any damage incurred during transportation to the supervisor or dispatcher

  • Notifying customers of any delays that affect delivery times

  • Obtaining customers' signatures upon completion of each delivery

  • Listen and gather positive and negative feedback from customers and share with the sales team

  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of the truck. This also includes being able to maneuver trucks so that they can safely and easily be loaded and unloaded

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Dependable and trustworthy with product and vehicle

  • Able to provide clear written and verbal communication

  • Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines

  • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries

  • Knowledgeable on basic vehicle maintenance and able to troubleshoot if needed

  • Well versed in DOT regulations

  • Able to use a pallet jack

  • Able to easily climb in and out of the vehicle

Education and Experience:

  • 1 years of experience as a Local or Regional Driver preferred

  • CDL-A or CDL-B Driver's License

  • Forklift Certified

Supervisory:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment:

Packhouse, 15%

  • The temperatures in the packhouse are between 34-38° F to preserve product quality
  • PPE must be worn at all times

Vehicle, 85%

  • Sitting in vehicle for long periods of time

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.

  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

  • Occasionally performing heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.

  • Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.
