Skilled Refrigeration Operators are hired as members of a manufacturing team. They are responsible for the maintenance of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and equipment within the manufacturing facility. The General Mills-Wellston plant operates on all three shifts up to 12 hours per day and at times 7 days per week. Changes in volume and production requirements can result in changes in work schedule and additional overtime. Refrigeration Operators must be willing to work any shift including nights and weekends. The wage rate for a Refrigeration Operator starts out at $22.20 per hour. General Mills offers a shift differential payment for those working off-shift. Our Pay for Skills Program is designed to provide development opportunities for our Refrigeration Operators that could lead to higher salaries. General Mills offers a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) plan, gainsharing, medical and dental insurance, disability pay, paid vacation and holidays. CB2 Main Responsibilities: In this role, you will: * Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment * Provide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modifications * Maintain facility equipment supporting production * Perform both uptime and down time preventative maintenance in adherence to the master PM schedule * Perform corrective maintenance work orders * Perform daily rounds/checks of ammonia system * Troubleshoot pump recirculating systems and liquid transfer systems * Train others on Utilities systems such as engine room, freezers, etc. * Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives in order to increase platform performance * Maintain a safe working environment and report unsafe conditions to plant safety personnel * Assist with training new employees as needed * Attend meetings and trainings as required * Perform additional related tasks as assigned Minimum Qualifications: * Must be 18 years of age or older * Must have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship * High School Diploma or GED * Experience in computer skills, Maximo, Microsoft Office * Two years refrigeration technician experience or equivalent education preferred. * Possess minimum two years electrical and mechanical maintenance experience * Possess minimum two years of experience with steam boilers * Working knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration * Must be able to lift 50 lbs. * Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces * Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends * Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment * Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment * Successful completion of hiring assessments, including background check, physical and drug screening Preferred Qualifications: * Technical degree in industrial maintenance or related field * Continuing education in maintenance/technical skills * Computer Maintenance Management System experience * Priority will be given to those possessing a current HazMat Technician Level Emergency Response Certificate and/or CIRO or CARO Certification through RETA * Demonstrated leadership ability General Mills, Inc.
