This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 3 days/month, and additional days as required, spent in our New Hartford, NY; Buffalo, NY; Woodbury, NY; Richardson, TX; or Duluth, GA locations.
What you will do
You'll be responsible for managing a team Senior Claims Specialists who handle auto bodily injury claims and low complexity commercial general liability claims. As a leader, you will also provide meaningful coaching, training, and development to prepare your team for advancement opportunities when appropriate. With your leadership, you will be responsible for the team's operational excellence and exceptional service to our customers. In this position, you will also participate in quality assurance to ensure claims handling accuracy. This position requires strong people and project leadership skills, a collaborative mindset, and technical skills in commercial auto and general liability.
Key responsibilities
Lead a team of Claims Specialists responsible for auto bodily injury and low complexity commercial general liability (business liability insurance) claims, including in Southern venues.
Plan work and assign to all Claims Specialists.
Oversee and assume responsibility for all work performed by Claims Specialists, including quality of work and schedules; maintain strict follow-up on all active claims; review files, answer technical questions, discuss problems, check out errors and discrepancies and take appropriate remedial action.
Review investigations, related forms and reports; analyze and evaluate liability, special damages, defense possibilities, settlement values and coverage questions; set and adjust reserves; extend authorization to Claims Service Representatives and consult superior regarding claims exceeding his authority.
Oversee and handle suit files and claim matters of a more complex and technical nature. Review law bulletins, court decisions and is required to have a broad understanding of the law and a basic knowledge of anatomy and medical terms.
What you need
Four year degree or equivalent experience.
2-3 years of adjusting work in commercial general liability and auto bodily injury.
Supervisory experience in commercial general liability and auto bodily injury preferred.
Familiarity with Texas and Georgia claims and venues strongly preferred.
Proof of licensing required.
Licensing
Required to obtain your license(s) as an adjuster in the state(s) in which you are assigned to adjust claims. Licensing must be obtained within the timeframe set forth by the Company and must be maintained as needed throughout your employment.
Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000
The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee's work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
