Job Summary

Job Summary

Process unclaimed property claims including owner claims, heir claims, business claims, Finder claims, creditor claims, etc. This position requires review of legal documentation including Wills, Trusts, contracts, judgments, etc.. and knowledge of a wide array of business property and financial instruments.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
2 years para-professional experience working in a high-volume transactional based environment

OR

Business related Bachelor's Degree

OR

Equivalent combination of education and experience

A candidate that meets the above minimum qualifications must also meet the following:

  • Experience working in unclaimed property

  • Experience working with legal documentation pertaining to deceased individuals including Wills, Probate, Trusts, or similar.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with various financial instruments including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, life insurance products and banking products

This position requires successful completion of the following:

The program creates new department-wide frameworks to leverage the agency's data as a strategic asset as we work with the citizens of Minnesota to conserve and manage the state's natural resources, to provide outdoor recreation opportunities, and to provide for commercial uses of natural resources. The Data Governance Administrator works with managers and staff to improve the integrity, reliability, consistency, and accessibility of agency data for use by staff and the public in decision making and analytics. The Administrator provides core support for developing and implementing data governance policies, processes, procedures, and supporting roles. The position provides a center of agency expertise for promoting and mainstreaming department-wide data governance to improve agency operations. Responsibilities include: * Set program direction, manage consultants and project leaders, and manage an interdisciplinary advisory team to move DNR toward more integrated approaches to managing and using agency data as a basis for agency decision making. * Serve as a primary source of data governance expertise and represent DNR at agency and interagency workshops and meetings, legislative hearings, and other forums. * Develop and implement agency data governance policies, processes, and procedures. * Lead data governance pilot projects to inform, test, and prototype data governance policy. * Create and manage operating frameworks to integrate resource discipline perspectives into more unified and comprehensive data governance policies. * Serve as principle advisor to the Commissioner and staff on data governance policies and approaches that build an agency culture of treating data, data systems, and decision tools as strategic assets. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources, Information Technology, Public Policy, or Administration disciplines or closely related fields. * Four (4) years of professional experience with the planning and implementation of data governance policies and procedures, including experience with data governance models, data quality management, and data stewardship practices. * Demonstrated experience working across disciplines and at substantial enough scale to impact data governance procedures for a county, state, or region. * Demonstrated experience applying statistical analyses and proficiency with at least one statistical software package (i.e. R, SPSS, SAS). * Strong working knowledge of data governance models, data quality management, and data stewardship practices. * Demonstrated experience with core data management functions, such as accessing and querying related databases, writing reports, or using SQL as a query language. * Skills administering a program that is both comprehensive and technical in nature. * Ability to integrate technical expertise in data concepts and tools with managerial practices in ways that facilitates organizational change and transformation of outdated business practices. * Excellent organizational skills and the ability to set and meet short-term and long-term objectives in a large, complex organization. * Strong and proven analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. * Ability to write in a clear and concise manner to effectively communicate policy and operational guidance to staff.
