Claims Adjuster Trainee

As a claims adjuster on our team, you'll help customers get back on the road after an accident. Managing the claims process from start to finish, you'll maintain strong relationships with customers while resolving auto claims efficiently.

Primarily over the phone in a fast-paced office environment, you'll rely on your decision-making and multitasking skills to resolve a high volume of claims. Bring your passion for helping others to our team and we'll teach you the insurance stuff. We'll provide training on property damage and insurance contracts so you can confidently and independently adjust claims.

Pay: $46,500 annually

Schedule: Tuesday

  • Saturday, 9am

  • 6pm

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Determine liability (who's at fault for the damages)

  • Interview customers, claimants, and witnesses

  • Partner with appraisers/estimators to manage vehicle repairs

  • Negotiate with customers and other insurance carriers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or a combined total of five years of work experience and/or college education

  • Work or educational experience must include:

oMaking decisions

oSolving problems

oPlanning, prioritizing and organizing

oEffectively communicating verbally and in writing

oCustomer service

  • Valid driver's license

Position Summary: Administers lower exposure claims in accordance with all pertinent requirements, policies and procedures. Works with and obtains information from clients, claimants, vendors, field personnel and other internal or external resources. Investigates losses to determine cause, scope and extent of damages and/or liability and possible subrogation. Evaluates claim for purposes of setting reserves and making appropriate payments. Documents all activity to support the outcome of the claim file. Achieves fair, equitable and timely claim disposition that is consistent with our customer and internal expectations. Communicates effectively with claimants, clients and other internal or external contacts. Maintains positive relationships, creates high level of satisfaction with our clients. Required: * High school diploma required. * Minimum of 1 year related experience required. * Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled. * Able to operate a computer; knowledge of MS Office applications, and related claims and business software. * Knowledge of claims investigation and settlement procedures and applicable state laws and industry standards required. * Solid analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve issues inherent in handling claims. * Able to plan and organize activities and workload and respond to multiple demands. * Good verbal and written communications skills.
