Essential Functions:

  • Investigates basic claims

  • Confirms that date of loss falls within policy period, determines applicable deductibles and claim payees/mortgagees

  • Initiates contact with insureds and claimants to provide information on claim process and gather information about the claim

  • Documents claim files

  • Resolves questions of coverage, liability and the value of claims

  • Takes statements over the phone from insureds and/or claimants

  • Sets timely, adequate reserves in compliance with the company reserving philosophy and methodology

  • Reviews bills, invoices and receipts for accuracy

  • Provides prompt, detailed responses to agents, insureds and claimants on the status of claims

  • Identifies opportunities for recovery and investigates and pursues accordingly

  • Negotiates, settles and/or resolves basic claims

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience

  • One year of claim handling or insurance experience required (Bachelor's degree may be considered in lieu of the experience requirement)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the claims adjusting process

  • Good knowledge of insurance contracts, medical terminology and legal aspects of court procedures

  • High standards of professional conduct

  • Good knowledge of computers and claims systems

  • Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills

  • Good investigative and problem-solving abilities

VIEW JOBS 3/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-10T00:00 Claims Adjuster Trainee As a claims adjuster on our team, you'll help customers get back on the road after an accident. Managing the claims process from start to finish, you'll maintain strong relationships with customers while resolving auto claims efficiently. Primarily over the phone in a fast-paced office environment, you'll rely on your decision-making and multitasking skills to resolve a high volume of claims. Bring your passion for helping others to our team and we'll teach you the insurance stuff. We'll provide training on property damage and insurance contracts so you can confidently and independently adjust claims. Pay: $45,500.00 Schedule: During training, schedule will be Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:15pm. After training, your schedule will be based on business needs, and will be on a rotational basis, Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, or Tuesday-Saturday, 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm. You will also be required to work one holiday during the Summer. You will attend a one week out of state training class in AZ or OH in the first month of the position.
