Brown & Brown is looking for a Commercial Lines Claims Manager to join our team in Irvine, CA!
SUMMARY:
Works independently and in conjunction with Producers and Account Executives on all matters relating to claims. Reviews first and third-party claims for irregularities, accuracy and completeness. Requests additional information, when necessary, for completion of claim processing
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
Must be able to handle all types of claims, (ie. Property, General Liability, Auto, WC & EPL), for the largest and/or most complex accounts
Effectively manage team members and monitor claim performance statistics to assure customer retention.
Serve as liaison between client & carrier on all claim related issues
Serve as liaison between client and carrier loss control representatives on loss control related issues
Serve as liaison between lien reps., hearing reps and defense council
Effectively manage multiple complex open projects
Have knowledge base of insurance coverages (i.e., occurrence versus claims made policies) as relates to claims handling
Facilitates and attends claim reviews with clients, carriers, producers and any defense council (if applicable); strong presentation abilities and highly articulate
Monitor reserves and timeliness of claim closure
Proficient in obtaining loss information (loss runs, claim adjuster notes) from carrier's online systems and any other carrier information as pertains to claims, loss information and loss prevention
Stay up to date on California Workers' Compensation laws and regulations
Familiar with medical procedures, new medical technologies and prescription drugs that affect workers' compensation claims; familiar with the rating factors that go into a disability claim
Familiar with changing legislations and insurance related court decisions that could impact how claims are processed
Any other job-related duties as may be assigned

REQUIRED:
College Degree or equivalent
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Positive attitude and commitment to working in a team environment
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Insurance certification or equivalent.
P&C license or attainment thereof upon hire.
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Exceptional telephone demeanor
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
5 years' experience in a similar position
