Position Purpose: Serve as a liaison between the plan, claims, providers and various departments to effectively identify and resolve claims issues

Audit check run and send claims to the claims department for corrections

Identify any system changes and work notify the Plan CIA Manager to ensure its implementation

Collaborate with the claims department to price pended claims correctly

Document, track and resolve all plan providers' claims projects

Collaborate with various business units to resolve claims issues to ensure prompt and accurate claims adjudication

Identify authorization issues and trends and research for potential configuration related work process changes

Analyze trends in claims processing issues and assist in identifying and quantifying issues and reviewing work processes

Identify potential and documented eligibility issues and notify applicable departments to resolve

Research the claims on various reports to determine if appropriate to move forward with recovery due to non-covered items being allowed, etc.

Run claims reports regularly through provider information systems

Research verbal and written providers' claims inquiries as needed

For PA H&W only:

Facilitates the exchange of info between the Grievances, Claims processing, and Provider relations systems.

Educate contracted and non-contracted providers regarding appropriate claims submission requirements, coding updates, electronic claims transactions and electronic fund transfer, and available CHC-MCO resources

Communicate with providers to exchange info and to gain feedback regarding appropriate claims submission practices

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 3 years of claims processing, provider billing, or provider relations experience, preferably in a managed care environment. Proficient in Excel, CPC certification and knowledge of provider contracts/reimbursement interpretation preferred.

VIEW JOBS 9/17/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-16T00:00 SUMMARY: Perform quality assurance functions as they pertain to claims transactions audits by means of identifying, documenting, and communicating information. The Claims Quality Analyst develops, maintains, and provides statistical reports to claims management on a regular basis. Works cooperatively with the claims trainer and claims team leaders to propose and implement solutions to always provide the best outcomes for our groups, members, and providers. Responsible for all activities related to internal claims audits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform quality review of random claim samples as they relate to claim adjudication, claim adjustments, and auto adjudication to ensure internal department standards are met for procedural and financial accuracy. * Work with claims trainer to identify, document, and propose solutions for areas of improvement or potential high-risk areas requiring further one-on-one or group training. * Develop, implement, and maintain worksheets that support the overall details of the QA program within the claims department. * Provide the Manager of Claims and team leaders with timely detailed monthly reports that outline departmental and individual statistical results. * Support the claims department by reviewing procedural documentation on claims processing as they relate to QA reviews. Provide recommendations based on findings. * Perform other duties as assigned to support claims functions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent * 10 or more years of claims processing or equivalent education/experience required * Minimum three years of experience with claims processing and adjustments, COB, and payment refunds for all lines of business and all types of claims required. * Spreadsheet and database skills required. * Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required * Quality assurance program experience highly desirable * Ability to handle detail and maintain confidential information. * Ability to prioritize and handle large volumes of work while maintaining a high level of quality. * Maintain a high level of motivation, initiative, and accountability. * Ability to work independently; plan, coordinate, and organize multiple priorities.
