We are seeking a motivated individual to act as a Claims Coverage Manager that will be a part of the Claims Audit and Consulting Team and help with the identification and analysis of coverage for incoming claims.


This is a full-time position within the Claims Audit & Consulting department of Woodruff Sawyer and is responsible for reviewing all incoming claims (except designated non-complex files) received by Woodruff Sawyer (WS) to evaluate, on an enterprise basis, which clients' policies should be noticed. The CCM will create a summary for each matter to the Claims Team and the Account Team which shall include: a summary of the allegations, the policies reviewed, a recommendation on notice, and whether other clients may be implicated.


Once in receipt of, or triggered to act on new claim information, the CCM is responsible for the following actions as part of the review:

  • Review and list all entities and individual persons named in the claim

  • Review all allegations included in the claim

  • Review all policies placed by WS for relevant clients

  • Create Summary Report capturing all information identified in 1-3

  • Provide Summary Report to Claims Consultant and Account Team with specific recommendation on which policies may trigger coverage and considered for notice


  • Minimum of seven years of claims management experience, law firm, TPA or brokerage environment preferred

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • D., CPCU, RPLU or ARM designation a bonus

  • Advanced knowledge of practical and technical aspects of core coverage area, claim procedures and terminology for Professional Liability and Property & Casualty lines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and shift focus as priorities change

  • Fire & Casualty license required upon hire or within 3 months of obtaining position

  • Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation required

  • Ability to travel as required

  • Flexibility to learn new systems and patience to teach others as a trusted resource

  • Ability to work with senior subject matter experts in insurance; help them feel comfortable talking to you by building relationships and trust

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Construction Defect Technical Specialist to join our team and work from any US Argo office or as a home-based employee. This role will adjudicate highly complex Construction Defect claims for our customers. The primary duties and responsibilities of the role are: * Under technical direction, works within specific limits and authority to analyze Construction Defect claims of the highest complexity. * Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly * Prepare reports for file documentation * Interview involved parties * Manage claims in litigation * Manage diary timely and complete tasks to ensure that cases move to the best financial outcome and timely resolution. * Properly set claim reserves. * Identify, assign, and coordinate the assignment and coordination of expertise resources to assist in case resolution. * Prepare reports for file documentation * Applying creative solutions which result in the best financial outcome. * Negotiate settlements * Processing mail and prioritizing workload. * Responsible for telephone calls and written correspondence to/from various parties (insured, claimant, etc.). * Have an appreciation and passion for strong claim management. Core qualifications and requirements for this position include: * A minimum of ten years' experience adjudicating construction defect claims. * Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required. (Please note four additional years of related experience adjudicating general liability claims beyond the minimum experience required above may be substituted in lieu of a degree.) Having earned industry specific designations as well is helpful, but not required. * Must possess or have ability to quickly obtain a license in each jurisdiction requiring a license to adjudicate first party claims. * Ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks. * Ability to articulate the financial value of your work at multiple responsibility levels inside our clients' business which may include the CEO. * Exhibit a natural curiosity. * Desire to work in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent evaluation and strategic skills required. * Strong claim negotiation skills a must. * Must possess a strong customer focus. * Must work independently and demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment. * Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business-related software. * Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to travel, sometimes overnight, approximately 10% of the time. * The ability to read and write English fluently is required. * Must demonstrate a desire for continued professional development through continuing education and self-development opportunities.
