What we're looking for

Vacasa is seeking a hard working, detail-oriented Claims Coordinator to help us maintain our large and quickly growing portfolio of vacation homes.

What you'll do

A skilled Claims Coordinator will review and assess incoming damage claims to determine the appropriate course of action for resolving the financial liability associated with guest damage.

This individual will:

  • Manage and track damage tickets

  • Maintain damage claims documentation in Google Drive

  • Identify if the home is opted into the Accommodations Protection Program

  • Coordinate with Operations as needed to collect necessary information such as photos, estimates, and details about the damage and/or home

  • Complete claims form as needed

  • Communicate with guests via email

  • Collect and process payments for damage folios

  • Coordinate with the Collections Specialist as needed to process unpaid damages

Skills you'll need

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Demonstrated ability to:

  • Communicate in a positive, professional, empathetic and "customer-centric" manner

  • Use appropriate spelling, punctuation, and grammar in all written communication

  • Negotiate fair resolutions

  • Organize and file electronic documents in Google Drive

  • Provide guidance and support to team members

  • Prioritize work and use a variety of systems and tools

  • Embrace and adopt change in a fast paced and constantly changing work environment

  • Work effectively both independently and as a member of the team

  • Be open to coaching and feedback

  • Perform other related roles and responsibilities as assigned or required in response to business need

Assist Disability Benefits Analysts to secure relevant information to make long term disability claim decisions and payments; carry out claim and disability management plans to ensure timely and accurate decisions and actions on disability claims of all levels of complexity; input claim data in multiple systems and assure data accuracy; communicate effectively to secure information timely, and provide responsive and caring service to claimants, policyholders, and others Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Assist Disability Benefits Analysts by securing relevant information pertaining to claimants' medical condition, occupational demands, pre-disability earnings, insured/member status and other policy provisions. Follow up on outstanding information within prescribed timeframes. Act as a back up contact to claimants and policyholders for basic claim information. Assist Disability Benefits Analysts in processing new claims accurately in ProClaim, STARS, and other support applications by updating data and verifying status. Assess the completeness and accuracy of information received. Assist Disability Benefits Analysts by executing claim and disability management plans on continuing claims, provide routine oral and written communication to our customers; assess the completeness and accuracy of information received; identify file/fact discrepancies and outstanding issues and consult with Analysts concerning any needed changes to claim management plans as a result. Verifying and entering of part-time work earnings and offset data into claim system. Maintain orderly and properly documented claim files. Respond to claim inquiries from claimants, policyholders, field personnel and others by using caring and timely customer service. Timely complete requests for routine clerical support from analysts Job Specifications: 1. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. 2. Experience: Six months related work experience, prior customer service experience, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Basic level Word, writing and math skills required. Attention to detail and accuracy; prioritize tasks to meet multiple and changing deadlines; accurately keyboard 35 WPM. 3. Professional certification required: None.
