ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Safety/Work Comp/ Liability/ Accident Claims Coordinator Coordinate portfolio of workers’ compensation injury, accident, and incident claims.

Responsible for reviewing workers’ compensation claims at meetings and collecting relevant facts surrounding the circumstances of the claim. Coordinate return-to-work program with supervisors, medical providers, and employees regarding work restrictions, documentation, and ability to accommodate according to company guidelines. Promptly processing received workers’ compensation & liability claims, ensuring all forms are completed timely, completely, and submitted.

Work with 3rd party assigned claims administrator on claim status throughout the life of the claim. Maintain effective coordination of files with regular daily follow-up. Maintain proactive daily communication with injured employees throughout the life of the claim; priority is to maintain positive communication with employees to return to work and minimize litigation.

Maintain regular contact with insurance carrier/claims adjusters/third-party administrator on liability claim status, proactively driving responses and reviewing reports with supervisor. Communicate with supervisors on open issues. Communicate regularly with supervisors & H.R. to provide status updates on open claims and unresolved issues.

Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations on an as-needed basis. Communicate workers’ compensation leaves with the Human Resources department. Coordinate workers’ compensation settlements with the Safety Manager & Chief Counsel.

Organize and complete workers’ compensation claim reviews and audits, helping resolve and close claims. Assist with processing wage statements as requested from the workers’ compensation process. Conduct workers’ compensation S.O.P. training to support current and ongoing initiatives, as needed.

Distribute Safety training to staff through online L.M.S or other means, as applicable. Upload, track, and monitor all OSHA & F.D.A. training in SharePoint. Conduct in-person safety training in our training room through PowerPoint presentations to employees.

Conduct safety training certifications for pallet jack, forklift, MEWP, and other powered industrial equipment. Support conducting orientations for new hires. Assist in filling out OSHA 300 forms in accordance with OSHA requirements.

Conduct facility audits. Assists in audits conducted by OSHA, F.D.A., Dept of Agriculture, A.S.I., Zurich, and others, as needed. Assist and complete other workers’ compensation and safety-related duties as directed by the Safety Manager and other senior leaders.

Knowledge And Skills Required Must be able to work independently and be self-directed, but also have the ability and understanding of areas that require authorization and direction from supervisor and when/how to provide regular updates. Energetic, driven personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines and meet objectives. The ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization and outside with various vendors and providers.

Organized, with the ability to process paper forms and information effectively, including ensuring that information and its impact on the organization is understood and escalated when required. Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; good comfort level with integrating multiple applications to streamline operations through technology solutions such as SharePoint and Teams. Able to use technology effectively to create meaningful reports and measurements.

Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion. Verbal and written communication skills are required to interact successfully at all levels of the organization and function as a team player. Experience Required Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Some college or degree in safety is a plus Must have at least two years of verifiable work experience in workers’ compensation and safety. Must have experience with accident claims administration in a corporate, carrier, legal, or third-party administrator environment.
