Exciting new opportunity to provide administrative support and overall assistance to Claims Examiners to assure the timely payment of benefits and administration of Claims in compliance with state law.


Deliver basic to intermediate administrative support to Claims Examiners.

  • Contacts insured or other involved persons to obtain necessary information to process claim.

  • Documents conversations or information on appropriate enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

  • Organizes and works with Examiner using computer to enter, access, search and retrieve data.

  • Stays current with diary tasks and procedural changes.

Imparts exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, including insureds.

  • Provides information to insured, injured worker or providing referrals to outside vendors as requested by the Examiner.

  • Processes claims for indemnity payments and state mandated forms.

  • Processes non-medical payments.

  • Organizes and works with Examiner using computer to enter, access, search, and retrieve data.

Assist Claims Examiner with complete post-claims resolution and related administrative projects.

  • Schedules appropriate medical appointments, calculate mileage and send appointment letter reminders.

  • Interaction with nurse on case management regarding return to work status.

  • Support Claims Examiners in the preparation, processing and monitoring of payments.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required.

  • Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.


Solid customer service, phone and time management skills. Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as the ability to learn enterprise resources planning (ERP) software. Excellent data entry, strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize assignments. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Coverage Specialist (Counsel/Claims/Attorney/Legal/Lawyer Location:Wayne, PA Team:Claims Job Type:Claims FT/PT Status:Full Time Job Description USLI is seeking an experienced legal professional to join our Coverage team and contribute their subject matter expertise to the handling of a diverse caseload of Professional, Casualty and Property claims involving coverage. Essential functions include: Identify, evaluate, and analyze coverage issues as well as applicable coverages. Draft comprehensive coverage and denial letters. Provide oversight of outside coverage counsel, including the supervision of coverage litigation. Serve as claims counsel. Proactively negotiate settlement of claims within evaluation and designated authority level. Process and pay claims and expense invoices in a timely manner and within designated authority level. Perform legal research and provide legal coverage opinions to claims personnel on all product lines involving coverage issues. Keep abreast of insurance coverage case law, trends and experience and prepare summaries for dissemination of information within the company on coverage cases and trends. Develop and present training programs to internal claims departments and participate in roundtable conferences with claims personnel on legal coverage matters. Assist in drafting policy language, working closely with underwriting and corporate legal. Travel as necessary to attend arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences or trials. Participate in customer service visits or to further customer service relations. Perform other duties as assigned. Other Duties and Responsibilities: * Special Projects: Complete special projects assigned by leadership. * Continuing Education: Attend educational seminars and conferences. Enroll and complete continuing education programs for both professional and personal development as outlined in annual Training and Development Plan. Minimum Job Requirements: Education: Juris Doctorate. Experience: 3 to 7 years of claims handling experience with strong coverage background, claims counsel experience and/or relevant legal and/or litigation experience (lawyer, attorney). Specific Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills Strong analytical skills Strong negotiation skills Strong organizational skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: JD. Good working knowledge of Westlaw.
