Claims Assistant (Hybrid - Des Plaines, IL)

This is a hybrid role supporting the Founders Insurance team and reports to the Chicago Regional Office in Des Plaines, IL.

What you will do

In the role, you will provide administrative support to members of the Founders Insurance Claims team. Using skills in detail orientation, you'll process payments and perform other administrative tasks to keep operations running smoothly and ensure that work is performed accurately and in timely manner. The Claims Assistant also serves as a back-up in our Claim Service Unit during times of high call volume, serving as our customers' first point of contact and ensuring that their claim experience a positive one.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments to outside vendors, i.e. independent appraisers, tow companies and salvage yards.

• Assist in the distribution, recording and mailing of payments for claim settlements to customers. This includes ensuring that the proper attachments are included in all mailings.

• Process stop payments and void check requests.

• Utilize data entry equipment for obtaining information, and in some cases, responsible for the entry and maintenance of files, spreadsheets or various management reports.

• Act as a liaison between claim specialists and DRP shops, independent appraisers and staff appraisers.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Conform with all corporate policies and procedures.

What you need

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent work experience.

• Comparable business or industry experience, preferably with some general office responsibilities.'

Salary range: $37,440 - $49,920

The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee's work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
