Works with carriers to resolve matters dealing with claims. Resolves claims in a timely manner, and communicates with customer regularly until resolved. Brings Claims Manager up to speed on any claim trends noticed that need to be addressed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Enters claims for carriers; LTL, TL, & Air Freight
Sends out collection letters to carriers and calls carriers to resolve collection matters
Writes letters to claimants and carriers requesting documentation and information needed to resolve claims
Writes letters to claimants regarding denials and status
Works with carriers on all carrier denials and requests
Updates claims in CLI with status and requests
Makes spread sheets for carriers regarding claim status
Sends letters to carriers regarding 30,60,90 and 120 day status
Works with customers and carriers over the phone to resolve claims issues
Works with insurance company to resolve claims
Takes care of requests to handle certain claims or projects assigned by manager
Keeps manager up to date on process and outcome of claims or projects
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of use of databases, and Microsoft applications: i.e. Work, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of the National Motor Freight Classification Guide.
Knowledge of the claims regulations.
Knowledge of how outside carriers conduct business.
Proficient typing skills (20-25 words per minute)
