CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for a Claims Adjuster Senior, Workers' Compensation Indemnity located in Phoenix, Arizona or Las Vegas, Nevada. The Claims Adjuster Senior, Workers' Compensation Indemnity is responsible for analyzing time loss workers' compensation claims to determine compensability by applying laws, rules and regulations of workers' compensation. This position is also responsible for the adjudication of claims to ensure timely payment of indemnity and medical benefits due within company standards and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain action plans and reserves to ensure pro-active, cost effective claims management.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and adhere to action plans and reserves on indemnity claims while pro-actively managing claims to resolution.

  • Establish and maintain cost drivers and data elements to ensure accurate NCCI and Medicare reporting.

  • Actively utilize all available cost containment measures and programs i.e. apportionment, subrogation, and vendors.

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with injured workers, policyholders, brokers and agents through proactive claim management and timely communications.

  • Identify settlement opportunities. Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys.

  • Appropriately document communications and claim management activities.

  • Conducts dispute resolution with claimants and attorneys.

  • Testify at hearings when necessary.



  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a related discipline including business administration, finance, management or marketing.

  • Strong technical claims knowledge with prior successful experience in a workers' compensation claims management environment.

  • Knowledge of Department of Insurance (DOI), NCCI, and state specific rules and regulations. Analyze, interpret, and apply laws, rules and regulations pertaining to workers' compensation.

  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, while demonstrating strong collaboration skills in a team environment.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Arizona or Nevada Property and Casualty Adjuster License, Associates in Claims (AIC), Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) certificates; or other professional designation preferred.

What We Do The Liability Claims department is responsible for the investigation, evaluation and resolution of injury, non-injury, and property damage claims that result from auto losses. We work with our customers, the parties involved in the loss, insurance carriers, lawyers and other members internally that play a role in the resolution process. What You Bring * Education - High School Diploma required, 4 year degree preferred.
