The Claims Adjuster is responsible for the investigation and handling of casualty claims including subrogation claims.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides accurate information to claimants, employees, other departmental employees, and the general public via e-mail, correspondence, telephone, or in person
Testifies in court proceedings; participates in mediations and hearings
Prepares reports and presentations as required
Manages and coordinates diverse tasks with strong attention to detail
Operates camera equipment and tablet
Coordinates activities on worker's compensation claims with the claim contractor
Assists in all areas of Human Resources and Risk Management as required
Performs other duties as assigned

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; and
Current adjuster's license to handle property and casualty claims in Texas
A minimum of two (2) - three (3) years of verifiable paid work experience handling claims
Working knowledge of accident investigations and familiarity with insurance terminology and procedures
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and risk management information systems
Good oral and written communication skills
Valid driver's license (Texas upon hire) and reliable transportation for fieldwork.

Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
Two (2) years of experience handling claims under the "Texas Tort Claim Act"
Two (2) years of bodily injury claims handling experience
