Great American's Trucking Division offers a nationwide program that specializes in insuring the unique exposure of the For Hire Trucker. This progressive program focuses on the owner operator and small fleet markets. We're proud to serve the long haul trucking industry with insurance products and services dedicated to the success of the Owner-Operator.

Our Specialty Trucking Division is currently searching for a Claim Representative/Senior Claim Representative, with an exceptional dedication to customer service, to investigate and settle commercial auto claims. The person hired for this position will work from our downtown Cincinnati, Ohio corporate offices or, if not in the Cincinnati metro area, from home.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews claims; confirms and evaluates coverage.

  • Contact appraisers and act as a liaison between shops and claims.

  • Monitors, controls and negotiates claim settlements with insureds and body shops.

  • Ensures that reserves and payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Investigates and evaluates recovery potential. Performs recovery activities as needed.

  • Documents and maintains all systems and manual records necessary for proper claim handling.

  • Coordinates the claims material damage direct repair program including vendor/shop selection.

  • Services the claim needs of our customers, including insureds, claimants, agents and other Great American personnel in a prompt and courteous manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in physical damage claim investigation and evaluation.

  • Experience in either damage estimating or handling commercial auto claims is a plus.

  • Knowledge of commonly used insurance coverages, concepts and practices.

  • Must have strong working knowledge of PCs and computer software.

  • Excellent skills in planning and organizing.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be open to travel as needed.

  • Continued professional development of our employees is required.
