JOB SUMMARY:

Operate vehicle to transport cargo to and from specified destinations (customer location, airline or trucking terminals) in a safe and efficient manner. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Operate vehicle to transport materials to and from specified destinations in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with State and Federal DOT regulations.

  • Responsible for the protection of company equipment and freight from damage, theft, or tampering.

  • Load freight onto the truck using a forklift and pallet jack, and utilize load locks, straps, covers, etc. to ensure that freight will be delivered in good condition at final destination.

  • Unload freight from truck utilizing proper equipment and securing for transit when necessary.

  • Coordinate pick-up and deliveries for domestic.

  • Comply with all applicable State, Federal, and DOT Regulations.

  • Perform inspection of assigned unit and complete all required paperwork.

  • Upon arrival, receive dock assignment, complete and sign appropriate paperwork documenting accurate piece count.

  • Verify that all freight corresponds to paperwork.

  • Communicate discrepancies or damages to dispatch immediately.

  • Maintain radio contact or communication with dispatch office and promptly report all delays due to weather conditions, breakdowns, accidents, or any other emergencies.

  • Ensure equipment is kept in proper repair and working order.

  • Clean and secure assigned unit at end of scheduled shift.

  • Complete DOT driver's log and vehicle inspections on a daily basis.

  • Communicate "Proof Of Delivery" immediately upon delivery.

  • Assist in warehouse if driving is not required or between runs.

  • Complies with all Transportation Security Administration security requirements.

  • Presents self in a clean and professional manner at all times.

  • Adhere to all Company's policies and procedures related to drivers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum five years industry driving experience may be substituted for a high school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum one year verifiable driving experience in the industry and in the type of vehicle that will be driven.

  • Must be twenty-one years of age or older.

Certifications and Licenses

  • Valid state issued Class C Driver's License issued by the driver's home state of residence.

  • Acceptable driving record as defined by DOT regulations, TSA regulations and Company policy.

  • Must meet the physical requirements established by the DOT and have, or be able to provide a current valid medical card.

  • Forklift Driver Certification.

  • DOT Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials Certification.

  • Must be bondable.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

  • Ability to operate a dolly, forklift, hand trucks, lift-gate and pallet jacks.

  • Ability to read and interpret maps.

Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in various warehouses and with varying road and traffic conditions. Warehouse environment includes exposure to high noise, moving machinery and/or vehicles, dust and warm temperatures, and working closely with others. Lighting is adequate.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; talk; hear; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; and be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. May be subject to heat and cold during peak weather conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: * Safely operates a company vehicle/truck to transport products between Market Centers and remote/depot locations on time and according to route delivery and facility processing schedules. * Confirms route scheduled and details with Market Center Production Manager. * Verifies daily preventative maintenance of vehicle/truck, schedules regular maintenance for tractor/trailer, and maintains proper operator documentation, driver duty status logs, daily vehicle inspections reports, and schedules. * Manages daily route to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product. * Loads/unloads product per company policies, procedures, and guidelines. * Take responsibility for your personal safety and watch out for the safety of others in the Market Center and across the road transportation. Use safe precautions, proper tools, and equipment, and adhere to all safe work practices and policies. * Knows and adheres to Federal, State, and local highway transportation laws and regulations. * Carries at all time the required driving license and medical certification as required by state/federal regulations. * Perform additional duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities described above. * "123INDEED321" Qualifications: Qualifications * High school degree or equivalent preferred. * Must be a minimum of 22 years of age, have a valid commercial driver's license, and meet minimum DMV/MVR points per company policy. * Current CDL-A License and minimum 3 years driving experience required. * 3-years previous truck driving experience in a similar vehicle to what is required on the job, or equivalent experience.
