Golder has a new opportunity for a Construction Quality Assurance Technician. This is an entry level position, responsible for work on earthworks and geomembrane liner for projects related to the power and solid waste industry.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing field activities either individually or as part of a team that may include the collection of field data, completing field tests, observation of construction activities, implementing health and safety procedures, and oversight of related subcontractor services and other field related activities;

  • Assisting with field oversight and documentation programs to ensure projects are completed in accordance with the project design drawings, technical specifications, quality assurance testing plans, and project specific health and safety plans;

  • Assisting with field sampling and testing soils, geosynthetic products, and other construction materials;

  • Assisting with field interpretation of project design drawings and technical specifications and communicating finding with the project engineers;

  • Assisting with the review and documenting project record documents, contractor requests for payments, requests for additional information, change orders, and certificates of completion;

  • Assisting with the development and distribution of field notes, meeting minutes, project action item lists, internal tracking of projects activities, and general project coordination activities in support of project managers;

  • Documenting construction activity with a daily report.

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Understanding of civil and geotechnical engineering design, and a background in earthwork construction, including the ability to read and understand technical civil design drawings and technical memos.

  • Travel, including travel for extended assignments.

  • Daily report writing and construction documentation.

  • The ability to communicate constructively with contractors, owners, and Senior Golder personnel is essential

  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, and database software preferred;

Primary focus is in supporting production operations to ensure parts manufactured meet customer requirements.
