As an Civil/Environmental Design Engineer in the Cincinnati office, you'll have the opportunity to support stormwater design and permitting efforts, site development efforts, environmental impact analyses, and general land use planning efforts for environmental, water and transportation projects. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams, working with engineers, scientists, project managers, and junior project staff, in all phases of the execution and delivery of projects. In this role, you will:
Perform civil design tasks related to site development, site remediation, environmental permitting, construction stormwater permitting, and/or stormwater drainage analysis.
Develop stormwater management evaluations and best management practice designs to manage storm water in a pre- and post-development condition.
Design/optimize stormwater conveyance systems and supporting calculations, evaluate viable alternatives, and prepare detailed cost estimates.
Prepare design drawings, calculations, and specifications under a senior engineer.
Prepare construction documents.
Obtain/maintain license as a Professional Engineer (PE).
Interact with internal team members in the local office, as well as regional and firm-wide staff.
BA/BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related engineering degree is required with related work experience listed below:
A Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain within approximately one (1) year.
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience including direct project experience with stormwater management and/or site development in Ohio and/or Indiana.
Experience with stormwater pollution prevention plan development and calculations.
Experience with developing stormwater drainage and grading plans.
Experience leading and contributing to stormwater evaluations and permitting applications including hydraulic and hydrologic evaluations, stormwater controls (i.e. detention, retention, and/or bio-retention facilities), preparation of regulatory analysis and documentation.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Possess strong writing, verbal communication, and leadership skills.
Experience in environmental consulting.
Experience with site development and stormwater management projects in multiple states (Ohio / Indiana).
A Professional Engineer (PE) in Indiana, Ohio, and/or Kentucky.
Direct experience with clients in energy clients, including pipelines and overhead electric transmission lines.
Experience leading and contributing to energy service area transmission and distribution infrastructure projects (i.e. permitting, design, and construction).
Experience with soil stabilization techniques, site remediation, civil design and storm water management evaluation.
Experience with engineering, design and permitting activities for energy and industrial projects.
Understanding of applicable EPA regulations and managing tasks involving multiple methods of stormwater management, site development, remediation, and site management/characterization.
Experience with SWMM and HydraFlow.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
