Civil-Structural Engineer

Reliance Engineers, LLC Title: Civil-Structural Engineer Job Duties:

The responsibilities include supporting the firm with current projects including complex Bridge and Structural Engineering design projects. This will require a strong background in advanced topics in structural mechanics and structural design gained through successful completion of graduate-level coursework. Candidate will work with Finite Element Modelling (FEM) Analysis, Steel and Concrete Design, Foundation & Geotechnical Engineering.

Will also participate in such activities as the firm’s Research & Development initiatives such as developing a new type of wind-turbine design by using geometric modelling, using such software as Solid Model, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. Additional duties include providing QA/QC Management on existing projects through review of submittal packages for construction by the Contractor on behalf of the public agencies to independently ensure they meet the project specifications and oversee the on-site installation and produce QA/QC reports. The position also involves assisting the firm’s CEO with planning, execution and delivery of the firm’s growth strategies and providing leadership in the discharge of such executive functions on behalf of the firm’s leadership of the day-to-day operations.

Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field and two and a half years of experience in civil and structural engineering or related field, and executive management. Two and a half years of experience must include working knowledge of industry-standard software packages and experience utilizing modeling software interfaces such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, and Abaqus for comprehensive structural analysis and design according to standard design codes.

Demonstrated experience in Research & Development Projects involving fled flow, CFD analysis, use of experimental and laboratory methods in engineering investigations, creation of functional prototypes, documentation of findings, and proven communication and presentation skills is also required. Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures and the use of ASTM standards and other specifications in QA/QC evaluations, laboratory, and field measurements of scientific data, making site visits as need in the implementation of QA/QC protocols. Must have demonstrated executive experience gained through a position of responsibility providing strategic leadership and day-to-day operations of an engineering services firm or other technically oriented business enterprise.
