We're working with a major petrochemical client in Houston that's wrapping up the pre-FEED phase of a mega-project and looking to bring on contractors for the FEED phase. All candidates MUST have experience in downstream petrochemical/polymers and grassroots/greenfield mega-projects.

Job Description

  • To work on our client's Project as Civil & Structural Engineer and provide consultancy services in rotating equipment engineering.

  • Review Project Engineering deliverables related to Civil & Structural Engineering.

  • To provide support to site construction work and participate in site construction activities.

  • Participation in Technical meetings.

  • Review Project Engineering deliverables.

  • Evaluate Project Clarifications.

  • Involved in Construction activities.

  • Participate in factory & site inspections.

  • Evaluates vendors' bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications.

  • Communicates structural design to the EPC vendor and other design disciplines.

  • Reviews and approves design drawings for assigned segment of the project.

  • Monitors subcontracted technical services' activities.

  • Supervises and directs the activities of other personnel in team.

  • Provides input to estimates, proposals, scheduling, manpower planningetc.

Requirements

  • 15 years or plus experience in petrochemical or a combination with oil and gas, refinery, or engineering companies with minimum 5 years in design office.

  • Deep knowledge on Structural Engineering industry standards such as ASCE/ AISC/ ACI/ IBC/ ASTM etc.

  • Deep knowledge on the design of reinforced concrete and steel structures with hand-on experience in using structural analysis and design software such as STAAD Pro.

  • Experience on structural design of multi-story process structures housing heavy equipment and machineries.

  • Knowledge and experience in design optimization for better project economy and constructability.

  • Ability to develop and analyze finite element models for structures having different geometry, or sumps, mat foundations etc.

  • Knowledge and experience on condition assessment of reinforced concrete structures; ability to perform root cause analysis for durability related problems.

  • Good knowledge of preparing technical part of engineering contract packages.

  • Familiar with modular constructions.

  • Experience on module ocean transportation.

  • Good leadership, planning and management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Language.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and related to structural software.

  • Experience as an Owner engineer, on site or as part of owner's project team, is an advantage.
