Civil Roadway Engineer

Opportunity :

Parsons Corporation has a new opportunity for an experienced Civil Roadway Engineer to work with design engineering of road & highway systems supporting Caltrans, City of San Diego, and County of San Diego primarily for public works transportation projects in the San Diego area. You will perform a variety of engineering duties by applying basic engineering techniques and analyses inclusive of basic geometric horizontal highway design.

You will draw on previous experience to support various Caltrans and local city and county highway projects. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.

Remote hybrid work allowed for this position ( meaning ability to work from home 1-2 days per week).

Responsibilities :

Will utilize Microstation and/or Autocad Civil 3D CAD software to perform geometric alignments for road, highway, and other transportation projects in Southern California.

Design elements can include ramps, and interchanges for various highway projects as well.

Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the engineering field.

Prepares or assists in preparing fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.

Assists in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.

Assists in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses.

Assists in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.

Requirements :

4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 3 years or more of related work experience with transportation roadway systems design is required

Candidates should have an EIT, but not required.

Skills/ Competencies :

Experience and proficiency with Microstation or Autocad Civil 3D is required.

Salary Range:

$61,200.00 - $123,400.00
