We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time Project Manager / Group Leader to join our Site Design team in Huntsville, Alabama.
This position requires effective technical, team leadership, project management, client management, business development, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success as an industry leader in prospecting and scheduling face-to-face meetings with key decision makers and influencers within the Huntsville area. Current involvement and visibility within Huntsville area professional organizations, industry associations, civic groups and/or local associations for economic and business growth is desired.
As Group Leader, you will lead the location's Civil Engineering team, responsible for staff supervision, training, mentoring, and coaching of employees. Additional responsibilities include meeting objectives in safety, quality, human resources, finances and risk management; and staffing projects with appropriately trained and certified personnel, maximizing staff utilization and project profitability.
As a Project Manager within a growing design team, general responsibilities include development of conceptual design, engineering analysis of design alternatives, drawing/detail preparations, construction cost estimating, specification preparation, permitting / agency coordination, construction site inspections, proposal and report preparation, schedule and budget management, and communication with internal and external clients. The position requires experience in roadway and site design, grading design, stormwater design, utility design, permitting, and construction administration.
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required;
Professional Engineer registration in Alabama or able to obtain within six months;
Ten (10) or more years of progressive experience in civil engineering design projects including site/land development, stormwater, and utilities;
Business development experience required;
Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and stormwater modeling software is a plus;
Knowledge of Alabama processes is preferred;
Well organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work;
Candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written, oral and listening, and good interpersonal skills as well as ability to work and interface well in a collaborative project team environment;
Interacts positively and effectively with people in all levels of organizations.
This is a full-time position with excellent pay based on experience.
