The Legal Aid Society's Civil Practice has an opening for an Assistant Coordinator in the Grants & Contracts department.
The Assistant Coordinator handles day-to-day tracking and analysis of data, statistical reporting, audit/site visit preparation, check requests, program evaluation, and other select data management.
The Assistant Coordinator will also work on data collection practices with the Civil Practice Administrator, supervising attorneys, office managers, and support staff in the Practice's neighborhood offices and citywide units to analyze current practices and establish new protocols and best practices.
This position is ideal for someone interested in non-profit administration and management who would like to be exposed to grants management, program evaluation, and administration functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES * Synthesize and analyze program performance data into meaningful, concise statistical reports for government and private funders
Ensure that information needed for grant reports is timely collected and accurately reflected in the case management system
Prepare and analyze grant performance vs.
actual performance charts for Civil Practice and Grants & Contracts program leaders
Assist Grants & Contracts team and Supervising Attorneys in all aspects of audit/site visit preparation
Coordinate check request submissions for reimbursement of partner agencies on select grants SECONDARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES * Other duties as assigned
Highly self-motivated and able to work independently
Demonstrated ability to accurately and quickly gather data, compile information, keep accurate records, prepare statistical reports, and prepare narrative reports
Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; and the ability to work with databases
Excellent quantitative abilities
Ability to manage relationships and effectively communicate with staff, and ability to work closely with others
Excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent judgment, including ability to handle sensitive or confidential information
Ability to meet and manage multiple deadlines to grantors and funders
