The Civil Plan Check Manager is an experienced civil engineer that assists in winning and delivering of significant projects for existing and new clients. In general, the Civil Plan Check Manager (CPCM) will assist with the business development process and have significant annual sales or revenue generation expectations. By planning, executing and delivering complex projects for key clients, the CPCM meets customer expectations while optimizing internal resources to meet scope, fee and schedule expectations and delivering expected margin. The CPCM will generally act as Client Service Manager for strategically important clients and influence the overall direction of his/her region or area of expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Provides assistance to Client Service Manager for one or more strategically important clients.
2.Actively and responsibly communicates with the Group leader to meet client's expectations.
3.Provides expertise and value to clients beyond the technical execution of project deliverables.
4.Anticipates client needs and meets the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
5.Recommends additional business solutions to meet a client's current and/or future needs.
1.Provides assistance in creating market assessments and in the development and execution of regional market strategy.
2.Participates in the proposal development and interview preparation phases to ensure the company is well-positioned to win key projects.
3.Utilizes targeted marketing efforts to identify, position and acquire new clients on behalf of the company.
1.Serves in an advisor role on specialized, complex, and/or strategic projects.
2.Proactively anticipates project issues and shows the ability to navigate complex client, political or technical issues to mitigate the impact on project delivery staff.
3.Assists with the development of scope, fee and contract to ensure understanding of project deliverables with client staff.
4.Works closely with Group Leader to oversee the technical direction and manages resources to meet or exceed the budget and schedule.
5.Participates in regular project meetings where the schedule, project plan, and client expectations are regularly discussed to ensure delivery stays on track to meet client expectations.
6.Initiates changes in scope, addendums and change orders necessary to ensure financial performance of projects under management.
7.Directs and reviews the work of junior staff, and ensures that the firm's quality control and quality assurance processes are followed.
8.May provide individual technical contribution to the project under management.
1.Helps to identify the time and resources needed to deliver the project and provides assistance building an effective team.
2.May assign tasks and closely monitors progress against task budget and dates. Helps to hold team members accountable for achieving the desired result on a project.
3.Helps to lead Project Team Meetings and distributes meeting minutes to team members and the client as appropriate.
4.Resolves conflicts by ensuring they are addressed immediately and in the appropriate manner. Uses interpersonal skills to diffuse issues between team members.
1.Assists in monitoring and resolving such issues as scope creep, cost overruns, change orders, and delays.
2.Assists with client billing and ensuring the client is billed according to the contract schedule.
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in related engineering discipline.
Professionally registered (P.E.) in the state in which HR Green Inc. conducts business.
Minimum 7 years of professional engineering design, plan review, and project administration experience, preferably in a public agency setting, is required.
Ability to sell work to existing clients.
Business development competency.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in related engineering or related science discipline.
Professionally registered (P.E.) in the state in which HR Green, Inc. conducts business.
Has had 7-10 years professional engineering design, plan review, and project administration experience, preferably in a public agency setting
Has 5-10 years' of increasing project management experience.
Ability to sell work to existing clients with some experience pursuing and winning work.
Has an industry reputation such that s/he is known in the consulting community for strong project skills.
Have excellent communication skills, previous supervisory /management experience and outstanding conflict resolution skills.
Has an excellent network of teaming partners.
