Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is looking for a for a mid-level litigation attorney to join an award-winning law firm located in Los Angeles, CA. Ideal candidates will have a strong litigation background and have a desire to join a firm specialized in general civil litigation matters. The firm specialized in various practice areas representing nationally recognized companies/clients. This opportunity offers a lucrative compensation package and provides a fantastic work environment. Candidates must be admitted and in good standing to practice in California.

Responsibilities:

• Draft pleadings, discovery, memoranda, motions and other legal documents
• Handle litigation matters from inception through trial, including taking depositions, attending mediations and settlement negotiations
• Make independent decisions and advising clients on pre-litigation and litigation matters
• Work with experts
• Legal research
• Other projects, as assigned

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admission to the State Bar and in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience, preferably with experience in high exposure, catastrophic personal injury cases, general negligence. or toxic tort matters
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills
• Experience with billable hours, preferred
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
