Position Information
Performs difficult professional engineering work in supervising and participating in the design, construction, maintenance and operation of civil engineering projects; prepares and supervises the preparation of designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports; and performs other duties as required.
There are multiple vacancies in various departments in the City and County of Honolulu:
Seven vacancies in the Department of Environmental Services with telecommuting and alternate schedule opportunities available.
One (1) vacancy in the Collection System Maintenance Division
Two (2) vacancies in the Wastewater Engineering & Construction Division
Three (3) vacancies in the Environmental Quality Division
One (1) vacancy in the Refuse Collection & Disposal Division
Eight vacancies with the Department of Design and Construction
Six (6) vacancies in the Civil Division
Two (2) vacancies in the Facilities Division
Three vacancies with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Capital Projects Division.
One (1) vacancy in the Construction Management Pipeline Section

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
Verification Requirement: You must submit evidence of your education in order to be given credit. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One year ofregisteredprofessional civil engineering experience.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
1.Possession of avalid license as a professional civil engineer in the State of Hawaii.
Applicants with a current out-of-state professional civil engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.
