Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has a full-time opportunity for a Civil Engineer
Location: El Paso, Texas
Reports to: Transportation Supervisor
Employment Type: 40 FT Hours
Compensation Type: Salary
Registration(s): Professional Engineer
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as Civil Engineer in the development of roadway feasibility and planning studies, geometric design, drainage studies and designs, construction plans, specifications and
Experience in leading a complex civil transportation project including roadway geometric design, drainage design, signage and pavement markings, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, traffic signals, traffic control plans and construction sequencing. Experience with a TxDOT projects a plus
Experience in performing traffic impact analysis, safety analysis, traffic signal design, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) planning studies, ITS Design, ITS standard sheet and specification
Coordinate with EITs, designers and drafters
Review shop drawings, perform field observations, and facilitate construction management/administration activities.
Support project proposals, scopes, budgets, and manage execution and tracking of projects
Complete projects within client specifications, budgets and schedules
Assist in preparation of project reports including feasibility studies, implementation plans, engineering summary reports, and drainage impact analyses
Coordinate online meetings, preparation of meeting agendas, and distribution of meeting
Qualifications:
BS Degree in Civil Engineering
Must be a licensed PE in Texas
Minimum of 7 - 12 years of transportation engineering design experience
Proficient in MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Synchro, VISSIM, Highway Capacity Software (HCS) and TransCAD Modeling software
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
