Civil Engineer

Candidates will have experience in the structural design of design of civil earthwork, site work, grading, drainage, flatwork, soils/geotechnical considerations, and tangible experience with civil engineering modeling and analysis, in preparation of civil calculations, development of construction documents and coordination within the integrated design processes.

Common issues or claims that a forensic civil analysis will be used for are as follows: improper excavation/over-excavation, distress to exterior improvements, deficient grading and drainage, surveying, improper soils, landscaping, distress to flatwork, retaining wall systems, soils/geotechnical considerations, landslides, retention and detention ponds, spillways.

Appropriate candidates will have experience in advanced civil engineering analysis and the ability to develop, analyze, and evaluate detailed construction documents, drawings, and/or specifications. Candidates should demonstrate creative thinking in order to resolve complex civil engineering design problems. Additionally, candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills and have a collaborative and team-oriented attitude.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering analysis and building code requirements.

• Experience in the preparation of civil engineering calculations, civil detailing, supporting the construction administration phase of the project, and preparing engineering reports.

• Specific design experience including grading and drainage, soils/geotechnical considerations, and retaining systems required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• PE license required. SE license encouraged.

• Willing to travel within the State, with potential for regional travel.
