Larimer County is located in north central Colorado. It is the sixth largest county in Colorado based on both population and land area. The county extends to the Continental Divide and includes several mountain communities and Rocky Mountain National Park. The County encompasses 2,640 square miles that include some of the finest irrigated farmland in the state, as well as vast stretches of scenic ranch lands, forests and high mountain peaks. Over 50% of Larimer County is publicly owned, most of which is land within Roosevelt National Forest and Rocky Mountain National Park.

replacement and improvement in the unincorporated portions of the county.. The ideal candidate will be familiar with roadway design, repair methods and project management, construction methods, inspection methods, CDOT specifications and policies, AASHTO specifications, general hydraulic analysis and general environmental requirements. The ideal candidate will also be able to perform not only office duties, but fairly extensive field work including inspection of existing roads and bridges, and field engineering duties during new construction.
This position will be involved in other areas of the engineering department. We manage approximately 60 Improvement Districts which entails assisting both residential and commercial subdivision property owners with improvements and ongoing maintenance to their road systems.
In addition to projects on the County's road and bridge system, we have the opportunity to collaborate with and provide engineering support for projects with many other county departments. These projects range from designing and managing the construction of phased closures at the county operated landfill for Solid Waste, to designing and overseeing the construction of trails, trailheads and campgrounds for the Natural Resources Department.

At least three (3) to six (6) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
Engineer-Intern Certification required.
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado preferred.
Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Civil Engineering or a related field required.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License.
