Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced civil / environmental engineer level II to work in the Environmental Business line with an engineering design group on projects involving site/civil design, solid waste management, environmental infrastructure, stormwater management, construction and engineering services, for a variety of clients across the U.S.

Typical responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development of site/civil and environmental design projects, including developing grading, drainage, and stormwater management.

  • Lead the development and application of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and analyses related to a variety of water resource engineering design projects and be able to mentor junior staff in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.

  • Prepare and review engineering related calculations and develop high-quality technical reports, design drawings and specifications.

  • Independently develop solutions for technical problems.

  • Be able to serve as a task manager on larger projects, or as a project manager on smaller projects.

  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

  • Travel to project sites as needed to attend client meetings or provide short-term construction oversight.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited university

  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Willingness to travel (20%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.

  • EIT in progress

  • Masters degree

  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio and/or other states with the ability to obtain an Ohio license within 6 months.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, with a desire to work in a dynamic and fast pace deadline driven environment.

  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with clients and coordinate among multidiscipline design teams.

  • Demonstrate the ability to create site plans following client and local and/or federal code requirements.

  • Demonstrate experience in Stormwater management and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling using HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar programs

  • Demonstrate experience in developing site/civil plans and drawings, including advanced experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D: Create Civil 3D surfaces & grading; Process and evaluate raw survey data; Create alignments, profiles, sections, and pipe networks.

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.
