Carollo Engineers is a nationally recognized engineering firm specializing in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking an entry level Civil Environmental Engineer to join our Tampa, FL office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing engineering work in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure

  • Work on engineering planning and design projects

  • Prepare reports

  • Develop plans and specifications

  • Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects

  • System modeling

  • Permitting and alternative analysis

  • Preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables

  • Data entry and analysis

  • Provide engineering services during construction

  • Participate in field activities such as pilot testing

Required Skills

  • Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Work well in a team environment

  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team

  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting

  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Minimum academic requirements include coursework in physical, chemical, and biological processes; hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design

  • Knowledge of structural and geotechnical design concepts and familiarity with codes and regulations related to drinking water and water pollution control are a plus

  • Familiarity with computer applications including AutoCAD, Microstation, and water and sewer hydraulic calculations/modeling software is a plus

  • Candidates should have passed or be eligible for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT)

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Our global recruitment team manages the delivery of exceptional talent to the firm through cultivation and attraction to assessment and selection. The Tampa Service Center opened in May 2010 to provide Executive Assistant (EA) support to North America as well as Human Resources (HR) administrative support. Since then, the TSC has expanded to become a hub for North American Finance and is home to over 700 colleagues within practice administration, recruiting, analytics, design, learning, benefits and other roles. You will work with a diverse group of colleagues who each provide support to functions within the center as well as across the region. What You'll Do You will develop and drive the attraction strategy for entry level roles and campus engagement. Reporting directly into the Head of Recruiting for Firm Service Professional in the Americas, you will collaborate on the development of and ensures execution of recruiting strategies and marketing efforts for colleges/universities, in partnership with business leadership, building relationships and serving as the point-of-contact for, career center personnel, college faculty, and student organizations. You will plan, coordinate, and lead the execution of all logistical elements for on-campus marketing efforts for colleges/university (i.e., information sessions, career fairs) and interviewing efforts (i.e., establishes interviewing dates, solicits and schedules interviewers,prepares interviewing materials). You will review resumes to assess against recruiting needs; make next step decisions and conduct initial screening to develop shortlist for assessment. Although assessment is managed directly by the lead recruiter for the function, you will continue to act as a relationship point of contact for campus candidates. For non campus hiring for entry level profiles, you will proactively identify and develop a pipeline of diverse candidates aligned to specific business units with entry level requirements. You will develop and implement ongoing day-to-day recruitment marketing activities at the local level and will contribute to the elevation of the firm brand in the external market as employer of choice. You will create sourcing strategy for each core function, promote employee referral programs, create engagement events and develop market intelligence insights and perform searches in LinkedIn and other online databases as well as social media sites.
