Actalent is hiring TWO Entry Level Civil Engineers for one of their clients in the Crown Point, IN area. Currently, 1 opening is for a Water/Wastewater engineer and the 2nd opening is for a Transportation Engineer.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil / Environmental Engineering graduate with 0 - 2 years of experience that is interested in pursuing a professional engineering career in water resources, sustainable water/wastewater infrastructure OR transportation. This individual will be assigned to a project team tasked with helping communities and industries solve their most challenging infrastructure problems. This client's team-based culture effectively fosters learning and growth, especially with entry-level engineers.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

• Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.

• Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior level team member.

• Perform sub-professional engineering tasks such as field work, inspections, engineering reports, permits, construction engineering, and simple design calculations.

• Coordinate with contractors.

• Review construction drawings and specifications.

• Contact government officials for permits.

PROJECTS

This client is a civil engineering consulting firm that specializes in Water and Wastewater Treatment and Transportation design. They work with a variety of different cities, towns and communities across Indiana. They primarily design Water Distribution Systems (Facilities/Plants/Pipe Networks) and Wastewater Collection Systems (Facilities/Plants/Pipe Networks) and Roads, Streets, Sidewalks, trails. All of these projects are for Municipal Clients (cities and towns throughout Indiana) and are either rehabilitation projects or brand new construction projects of water systems or wastewater systems or transportation projects. This client also does some stormwater engineering work as well.

START DATE

• Summer of 2024 (Ideally May or June)

LOOKING FOR:

1. B.S. in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering (required)

• GPA: 3.2+ required for this role.

2. Basic engineering principles & willingness to learn new skills

3. Interest in water/wastewater/stormwater engineering OR Transportation Engineering
